Heres a few of the little and not-so-little things going on in my life next week:
- Sunday, the Puerto Rican Day Parade. Central Parks is just a block away from
work, and if I've learned anything over the years it's that the potential for
some horrific riot to occur is always present at one of these things. Call it
rascist, I don't care; it wouldn't sting so badly if it weren't without validity.
- Monday: meeting the D.M. of the company that called me in for an interview
Friday. That's a pretty good sign, that they called back in less than 4 hours.
One hopes. It would be nice to get out of this economic slump. I'd have to
scrap the student loan, but somehow I'm not too upset about that, seeing as
how I could continue to pay my own way instead at my own pace (BTW: 10
classes to go to my first degree). I canceled my dentists appointment to make
this appointment, so I hope something good comes from it.
- Wednesday: Finals for Sociology. I can honestly say I have not done my best in
this class, as it held little interest for me. Why it had to be a required course is
beyond me. I freely admit I have done as little as possible in this class except
do the work at only a competent level (I think I'm around a low 'B' at the
moment), and plan on not killing myself over the final exam which is
formatted the same as the midterm which I got a C+ on. I figure between my
research paper getting around a 'B' and my finals being around the same
grade (C+, B-) I will be no worse off than I was entering this class. Sad, really.
- Saturday: my sister in-law's birthday. The Mrs. still hasn't gotten her a
present. I doubt I'll be able to go to any party, as I think I'm working from 1-7
that day. UNLESS I get the new job, then I'll simply take the rest of the week
off and say "TTJASI" to the liquidators.
Again, fingers crossed.
Book is going to printers as we speak. Giddy as a little schoolgirl.
