4 Days to Annual Dead Bird Feast

I can't believe I needed to buy another hard drive today, just to keep photos, music & video on. I had 40GB, now I've got 140GB. In 5 years, I'll prolly be buying a Terrabyte drive for my 200GB processor.

Funny thing is, I remember back in...oh, 91 or 92, when I was working in San Francisco and got my first Macintosh SE I was SURE I'd never need more than a 64MB drive. I couldn't possibly have that many things that needed to be kept on a computer hard drive, and programs wouldn't become too greedy for disk space.

*sigh*

Work doesn't suck as much as it did before I went out for my back, but I still haven't gotten my short term disability check from the insurance company yet. I hate that, because I'm going to have to call the company on it soon, regardless of what the outcome might be. I've had to borrow money to get to work, and that plain is the shits.

Hopefully, that job offer inquiry from the state will become a job. I'd rather be working in my field anyway, instead of just paying the bills until I can practice head shrinking.

My new book idea is now a work in progress: more to follow on that after I find out how to protect my idea.
