Think I'll Write Something While Taking My Evening Pills

Mmmm... what's up first? Diovan. Small, long tablet with a sickly pink hue. For blood pressure, I think. Vytorin's next. Small long white tablet. I know this one's for 2 kinds of cholesterol: yours and hereditary issues you may have. Number 3 is Norvasc. I think that's another blood pressure pill. Kind of an elongated octogon, white as well. Last up (until I take the pain meds, anyway) is good old aspirin, in the heart-healthy 81mg dosage.

ahhhh...

So anyway, I went to a symposium on the aging Thursday morning and early afternoon, followed by a community board meeting at 7PM that night. In between, I had some hours to kill so I went to see 'Meet the Robinsons'. It would have been 'Grindhouse', but that clocks in at 3 hours and 20 minutes, and I only needed to kill 2 hours. Less said about that, the better.

Big news (for me ) is that I got my acceptance letter to Hunter College here in NYC (first and only choice for undergraduate Psychology, IMHO). Yipee. First classes there in Fall. I'm half-inclined to take the Summer off before transferring - I've got a class scheduled for the next mini semester. Wait and see at this point. But I'm a little elated and DEFINATELY looking forward to a challange. I know thier Psych department has good people and pretty nifty research labs, so FINALLY I get to play mad doctor. Bwa - ha - ha - ha - ha.

Ha.

So I'm halfway to my goal. Next stop, Columbia, and a PhD. And a practice of my own. Still in the far future, but I can see it better now. Whooo.

Now for the Lyrica (nerve issues/sciatica) and Vicodin (eveything else)

Ahhh... Poland Spring. Coming to me straight from the taps of Maine's kitchens.

Bought Bubba a new PlayDough activity table/set today, then gave him a few new Cars toys. I spoil him, and I know it's going to come back and bite us on the ass someday, but I don't care. Everything I can give him, I will. That's the difference between being a mental health professional towards clients and being a parent when you get home. With us, it really is a case of "do as I say, not as I do". Nyah.

Did grocery shopping and went to the park for a while. I have a few papers due this week, but they're for the Urban Dynamics class so it's not exactly like I have to put a lot of effort into them.

I really like my new leather bag, the one I stuff my books in. I thought I was going to miss my old backpack, but really not much. After all, it does make me look more professional, like the Mrs. said.

Next thing you know I'll be picking out a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches...
