Maybe they're looking to be picked up by a network...
Bubba's gone through another one of those invisible developmental stages, the ones where for no reason whatsoever his ability to function as an individual has increased (parents will know what I'm talking about).
He takes instruction slightly better now, his word usage has increased, he wants to read books before bedtime now, he asks more questions, his 'casual' dialogue has improved and other small miracles. Notably, I no longer need to keep his hand in a vicegrip as he has figured out it's best to remain on the sidewalk - with a slight exception when there's a pidgeon around - at which point I make sure I'm between him and the damn, dirty bird.
Going to see "C.L." this weekend. She doesn't seem to be getting much better since she went into the V.A. hospital (big surprise), but what I find a bit annoying is how she always invokes the name of the Lord now whenever she's having difficulty going to the bathroom, eating, sitting up, etc. It gets tiresome, as I know full well she's only being dramatic. I should tell her what my wife's family is discussing about doing with thier mother; namely, sending her to a hospice to live out her remaining time in a drug-induced stupor. Maybe she'd be more motivated to get up and go to physical therapy then.
Going to the alumni picnic for one of the children's homes I was in as a kid next month. The last time the Mrs. & I went, it was Aug. 2001. Needless to say, we weren't too keen on going much after that time. But Bubba will love the open spaces the, free to run in the fields like we did as kids. Maybe. We'll see.
Having trouble sleeping lately. Don't know if it's because of my medication or pain or something, but I may need to bring it up with my PCP this week before my neuro appointment.
Time to go. Nite.
