Took Bubba to our first baseball game together last night. Mets vs. Braves. Things were going great, Mets had just struck all 3 Braves of the first inning out, and...
"I WANNA GO HOME!!!" This after buying him a hot dog and letting him run all around the stadium. Actually, it was more like "I don't wanna! I want to go!"
The reason for this, as far as I can surmise, is that he was under the impression that because we were going to Shea Stadium, he was actually going to get to play baseball.
*sigh*
His first week of Pre-K went a little better than expected; by the end of the week he was going into class without clutching onto my arm for dear life.
One good bit of news: home equity loan is on its way. Unfortunately, too late to do my sinister 2 week renovation plan, so I'm resigned to working on each room separately. First will be the bathroom, then kitchen, then closets, then living room, then bedroom, then dining room & hallway and finally Bubba's new bedroom (formerly the mother in-law's). Because of the secular nature of this plan, will use new bedroom as clearing house/new appliance storage for the majority of work. With a little luck by Christmas we'll have a brand-new living space which will be the envy of the neighborhood. And I'll have my giant LCD HDTV or projection system, whichever wins the "how long will this last?" competition. Also, will upgrade computer systems and whatnot. Hoo-ha!
School? Hard to say. After a few weeks I'm still not sure exactly how we're being graded and just what we're supposed to be learning. One professor is - as I said - either enlightened or nuts, the second is like the wallflower at the senior prom and the last acts like he wished the semester ended a month ago.
I'll admit my writing's suffered these past 6 months, but since it's always close in my mind I'm not stressing. It'll come when it's ready. For now, I'll invest my time and brainpower into school and the renovation. It's enough.
Maybe I'll take up B&W photography again next year, after Bubba begins Kindergarten. I'd have the time. Hmm. Something to think about.
Lots of things to think about.
