St. Valentine Was a Sadist

Well, my term paper was accepted by my professor last night. I was sort of surprised, seeing as "Nurse Diesel" usually shoots my stuff down for creative differences at least once before accepting it. So I'm pretty hopeful (Which is probably her plan: build up hope then pull it out from under me like some cheap Persian carpet).

Now on to weightier things, like what to do for Valentines Day. The Mrs. says she doesn't want anything or to go anywhere, but she's been saying that for 7 years now. Unfortunately, she HATES surprises so my options have always been limited and are growing thinner with each passing year. Maybe a dancing bear or something. I dunno. Crap. On top of that, her birthday is FOUR DAYS AFTER Valentines Day. Oh joy.

Bubba is in his whiny phase a full 6 months ahead of schedule. I guess being as big as a 2 year old already has that effect on his psyche. I know it's a bit of a problem as the other, smaller kids in his daycare are older and therefore think because of his height he is older as well, and Bubba sometimes shows frustration at not being able to communicate at as advanced a level as the rest of his classmates. Nothing for that, but it does make him cranky at home.

The book... the thrice-damned book. Yes, it's still coming but I work on it only when I'm able, which is not often. I'm still hoping for a Spring release. 'Hope' is the operational word here.

Put my Game Boy Advance away and bought the Nintendo DS. I don't know why so many dorks are bitching; the graphics are pretty good and the dual screens are fun, especially for games like "The Urbz" and "Metroid". I'm not saying it's the best handheld system that will ever come out, but COME ON! If you're using a handheld system so often that you demand PS2-quality graphics, you probably need to join the YMCA or Little League instead.

Time to put the laundry in the dryer, then it's "revise one damn essay or another" time until work. Buh-bye.
