4 Days to Surgery

Yep, spine surgery on Friday the 13th; how funny is that? But I do get over a month off from work and thanks to some careful planning and whatnot I can afford it. Maybe longer... ;P

I'm going to use the recovery time to continue writing my 2nd book "mageOPS: the Hellpit Incursion". It's sort of a cross between grownup "Harry Potter" magical crap & a Tom Clancy Rainbow Six novel, wherin the government has had a team of counter-magical operatives for about as long as there's been witches in the U.S. (it all began at Salem). Not exactly Great American Literature, but if I play my cards right it'll pay the bills. Keep checking back; in time, I'll postthe first chapter - it's done, but I want a few more in my pocket before I do that.

Also in the "hopefully" department, I'll have a new job with the Dept. of Mental Health, working at a hospital by the time I'm ready to work again. One of the worst aspects of the private sector (especially companies) is you, as a future mental healthcare professional, know the people above you are nuts, but you can't medicate them or lock them in a padded room or anything. *sigh*.
