4 Hours to Surgery

Now the fuckin' nerves set in...

Can't sleep. Can't eat (no food before surgery). Can't do much of anything but wait. It's the waiting that kills you, you know. And it does it so slowly. But on the bright side, I ought to be ready to roll after the weekend, ready to focus on the new book again and figurung out how to ditch my current job and find another. The job thing shouldn't be too hard. The book thing, well I dunno. Saw "The Ringer" with Nelson yesterday. For those not in the know, he's my brother-in-law via the Mrs.'s sister. He's a director of a department at a major metropolitan hospital, plus he recently got made a fellow. I never get tired of teasing him about that: "Hi! I'm a fellow!", like Johnny Knoxville in the movie. I have this knack for making people end up hating thier otherwise glorious achievements through mocking them. But it's fine: he pushes back, which is a hell of a lot more fun than the type who whine about it.

Wish me luck, whomever you are, all 3-4 of my faithful readers. I'm goin' under.
