I Wish I Was Dexter Morgan

You spend $2000 a semester paying for school, not including books and MetroCards and Starbucks, you expect something for your money. An education, perhaps.

Then don't go to Hunter. It's the end of my first semester here, and I swear I've actually lost knowledge I had before I came. The Approaches to Religion class instructor had so many absences I'm surprised the class wasn't cancelled. For example: when I came in Monday, there was a note on the blackboard telling us classes were cancelled for the rest of the week (no big deal, right? except for the fact it's the last week of classes before finals). No finals for this class; hell, I'll be lucky if someone's there tonight to turn my comparison paper in to.

Intro to World Music has been boring, a word I would never have associated with music before now. Of the three classes this guy's the only one to give us the school's teacher evaluation forms, and I filled them out honestly. Bland class, bland teacher.

Finally, Child Development: nothing I didn't know already (is every 200 level class nothing more than a recap of level 100 classes?) added to too many evenings of the professor going on about... ballet. Why, God?

Next semester I'm taking 4 classes. Why? I've got to get out of here fast, or my brain will melt. 2 more years, then Columbia or NYU. I hope they go fast.

Spring 2008:

1) Stastics for Psychology

2) Elementary Spanish (1 of 4 classes to meet the Language requirement. Pendejos!)

3) Intro to Women's Studies (can you guess why I'm taking this? If you said anything other than CORE requirement you're wrong)

4) Puerto Rican Culture (another CORE class). They make a lot of money forcing you to take classes that have nothing to do with your major. Assholes.

Bubba's been a bit moody lately. I wish I had more strength and a better back to play more with him.

The Mrs. is worried about money again. Just like last year. I'm betting we'll get through it like every year.
