Sitting here listening to 'Yo Gabba Gabba' melt my son's brain while I try to gather my thoughts. He's had another bit of developmental progress since last I posted; into singing with his favorite songs now (wasn't before, even if he knew them), his sentences are more elaborate and he can understand detailed instructions better. He's also really into playing N64 racing games now that I got him the emulator and ROMS.
My first class this year begins on a Saturday. Normally I would NEVER take weekend classes, but this year I'm determined to skip Summer classes so I need to bulk up now. With any luck (who am I kidding? a LOT of luck) when Bubba starts Kindergarten in the Fall I'll be able to take at least half my classes in the daytime. That's if I have enough time to (drop-off, transit time). It becomes important when there are classes that are not offered in the evening, no matter how progressive your college is.
Once again using my wife as an in-house case study practice sheet, I believe the reason she enjoys Jane Austin books/BBC films so much is that the late author and she both place so much stock in appearances and standing. Seriously. What's the more difficult task is what I'm supposed to do with this information.
So instead of thinking about that too hard this week, we'll go see 'Cloverfield' instead. Nothing like a giant monster movie to suspend one's sense of belief - as long as it's good. Then Sunday there's a birthday party for some little girl out on L.I. we're going to. I don't mind; Bubba needs more outings, especially in this cold weather.
Well, buh-bye for now. Next post, I'll be sure to bitch about school and whatever else is thrust upon me. In the meantime, I've got to get my Vicodin prescription refilled.

UPDATE: I just wanted to mention this before I don't post for a bit. It seems the plague - the one from the Middle Ages - is making a comeback in certain Asian and African countries. Many medical professionals are genuinely concerned that a new epidemic might start.
This is an even more distinctive example of not learning from history than any military quagmire can present. If enough people and resources aren't thrown at this problem soon, we may well see a horror that has luckily been absent for over half a millenia. And wouldn't that put a damper on the 21st century?
