Birthday plans in CT. dashed by host's ridiculously bad luck: cousin murdered by disgruntled ex in-law, host's wife's cousin died in Philippines AND host's brother got kicked out of the apartment he shared with someone and now lives in basement, effectively denying us a private gathering. The Mrs. has observed that ever since the couple sold their co-op in the city for a ridiculous profit and bought a big house a state away they've been induniated by in-laws seeking to have parties/wakes/assorted gatherings there.
Sucks to be well-off, I guess. I'm especially contrite about their new 2nd house in Nevada...
My back has been giving me Hell again, this time specifically nerve problems. Little pain to speak of, but the 'shock' the spine sends up/down my body whenever the nerve/s are compressed then released are both frightening and annoying. They range from weak to severe, you never know which is coming or for how long, the Lyrica I take I've had to double to have any sort of quantifiable effect; you see where I'm going with this, right?
On the bright side, I stand to do pretty well in the cash & prizes department this b-day. Hey: just because I don't like having a birthday doesn't mean I don't like recieving stuff from lots of family members for no other reason than a day represents some symbolic anniversary of my birth. Besides, I've been DYING for some Bluetooth-based wireless headphones for my cell phone, so I can listen to MP3s without a pesky wire leading to my pocket on the subway. See, most thugs wouldn't piece together that wireless headphones are - on the average - more expensive than wired ones and therefore connected to something worth stealing. They'd see some nut apparently listening to nothing on headphones with no wires.
Coming up on halfway mark in this semester, and I've got to admit I'm stressing less about it. Looks like things will be okay in that regard. Now I just have to start worrying about next semester...
In the creative department, I've been working on scripts on and off, plus doing some concept sketches to help the artist along. Not that I have to do much of that: Gino's not only a good self-starter but he also runs with an idea, adding things that make sense to the scenes. Looks like I was right.
Long holiday weekend/week (between this weekend and birthday I have only 1 or 2 days of school. Not as excited about this as I would have been years ago. Must be the "paying for it" part)ahead. Then: midterms. Yay!
Oh yeah: McCain is nuts. I thought he'd attack Russia during the debate last night.
